In previous article. i say the trademark law is to protect brand image that companies have made for taking long times. many consumers buy things depend on the brand image. so in other words, brand image is consumer's trust to that quality of merchandise. T.M law bannsthe behavior injured brand names like imitation, copy without permission and so on. it is similality to 不正競争防止法. this two laws are helpful to maintain the order of economic trades.
Consumer's trast is divided into 2. Firstly, the trust of specific subject providing the merchandise. Secondly, the trust of specific quality of the merchandise. so the function of T.M law is ralated to this and divide into 3. Firstly 出所表示機能(showing this merchadise from our company) Secondly, 自他識別機能(distinctiveness) Thirdly, 品質保証機能(garanteed the specific quality).

Today i see this phrase in a book "His new novel combines prose with his gift for poetry." i have a question. why his gift FOR poetry? because he HAS talent doesn't he? OF means possession. so we should use OF? i asked my friend in Finland, he said i should know what word it is targeted at. poetry is a large thing. there are many SKILLED people. that is why you should use "for". because the poems he writes make poetry better. poetry is not ONLY his. i understand very well.

In my office, we say "application FOR registration IN trademark office". but i have had questions until now. why"application" OF registration is wrong? why "application for registraion TO trademark office" is wrong? Yesterday i ask my friend and at last i understand the difference. memo is below.
Firstly, about FOR. For is used when it is aimed at some action. register, you DO something. and for is not yours but of means possession. The office dosen't have application yet. so we use for.
Secondly, about IN In is used already in a certain location or you are supposed to leave it in the office. so when return, you can use "to the office" return application to the office.
In this connection, i found the Japanese book about preposition. this is very good for those who are eargar to increase their knowlede of prepositon. The name is "前置詞マスター教本".

Yesterday, I saw the site named 名古屋の商標亭 which is written by a trademark and design lawyer. in the site, I found very intresting news. The address is :
http://www.itmedia.co.jp/news/articles/0803/20/news002.html
According to the news, people's subconcious is infulanced by bland image beyond our expectations. the news give us an example that "Apple"-logo can heighten our invention. Once you see the logo, .you can make more creative things using lenga. is it really? but i want opinions from the view of psychology.

Do you like brand-name goods? do you like Chanel, Hermes,Giorgio Armani,Louis Vuitton....? maybe many people say yes. But why? good design? good color? the answer may be diffrent from people. but the similarity is the quality that brands have.
The aim of trademark law is to protect brand image which companies have made for taking long time. brand image is the consumer's trust to the quality of company's goods. It is not too much to say that companies sales are dependent on their brand image because now that the technique of making good quality is developed, the defference among companiese is almost decided by their brand image. so trademark law is essential for famous companies.

In japanese traditional performing arts, 赤(red)is often used effectively. why so many seen red? women with red seem to be sensual and coquettish but according to the books, as an aesthetic concept, 粋(iki) lean toward a beauty somewhat less colorful. so women like in picture, not 粋な女性 namely she is not an ideal woman for Japanese. humm... did red have another meaning for women? what is the answer?

幻想的で美しいライトアップ。 カメラマン志望の友達がこの光を見て官能的な光だと言ってました。 どこに続くかわからない少し怖くもある不思議な光です。 The subtle light is visionary. my friend who want to be a cameraman said that this is sensual... I feel somewhat terrible looking this because it leads me to the 黄泉の国(yomino kuni)which is the world after die .The subtleness reminds me of fragileness of life. but because of the fragileness and ephemerality, life is beautiful.

I work
at a patent office in Tokyo dealing with filing new applications for registration of trademark rights in the Trademark Office of the world. Recently, there are many applications to the countries as follows; Malaysia, Bangladesh, Mexico, Vietnam,,, I look up why so many especially. Maybe the answer is related to post BRICs:N-11 named by Goldman Sax. N-11 is the group of new object of investments. Bangladesh, Egypt, Iran, Korea, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Turkey, Vietnam, Indnesia. But i think we should not to be marionettes of huge banking...

This picture is the building named Roppongi Hills. It takes 0 seconds from the exit of Roppongi station on Hibiya line. This has many shops and restaurant. If you want to eat Japanese food, i reccomend "クシノボウ"(kushinobou) on the 5th floor. After eating dinner, why don't you go to the observatory on the 50th floor? You can enjoy very beautiful night view.

The beauties of ephemerality and serene hush grow an idea of "幽玄の美"(yuugen no bi). It is the most important ideal for the medieval Japanese literature, especially "能"(nou)which is completed by Zeami (1363-1443 begginings of Muromachi period) is based on this idea. what is yuugen no bi? The answer is different from you and you and you. when you enjoy performed nou, you feel yourself. That feeling is very your yuugen no bi. Maybe it is mixed somewhat of diviness and sadness. Moreover, He developed it into the beauty of cool,"冷えた美". To express it, we need the ability of concentration on NOW not in the future or not in the past. The audience of nou is required same ability, i think. it needs perseverance. But ”薪能”(takigi-nou)which is performed outside at night with firewood placed is very visionary.
In Japan, there is an anime named "Tokyo Babylon". The book says why sakura is so beautiful. The reason is that there is a buried dead body under the tree of sakura. Sakura absorb the blood of it and is colord its petal beautiful. The petal color is called "薄紅色"(usubeni iro)which is mixed white and red. In Japan, sakura and death are thought to be close connection. It is because falling sakura petals seem to die silently and gracefully. For some Japanese, sakurais a symbol of silent death in some ways and it is noble because of the ephemelality.
